The MLT diode lasers “PACT” is a sophisticated red-light laser hand piece to the photo-activated germ reduction of tooth, mouth and implant inflammations with a specifically syntonic light performance (100mW) and wavelength (635 nm) for the activation of the photosensitiser "toluidine blue O" (TBO).

The system (laser class 2M) can be used analogously to a laser pointer in the practice.

The principle of the photo-activated chemotherapy (PACT) is based on destroying bacteria by means of a photosensitiser (toluidine blue O) which forms active oxygen during irradiation with light (for 30 - 150s, according to application area) of a wavelength of 635 nm and a performance of up to 100 mW.

The photosensitiser destroys the cell walls of the bacteria and leads to the perishing of the germs. The PACT system was developed in the course of a multiplicity of studies and was checked concerning its efficiency. It acts completely painless. In the use of the photo-dynamic germ reduction with toluidine blue, over 10 years no damages to the tissue, nor allergies or other side-effects have been determined.
